Our location
Waraburra State School is located on the corner of Johnson Road and Middle Road in the township of Gracemere. The town is home to the largest saleyards in the Southern Hemisphere and is the heart of the Capricorn cattle industry.
Arrival/dismissal
We advise that students arrive at school no earlier that 8:30am. All children arriving before 8:30am are not under direct supervision and are required to assemble at the covered area near the Tuckshop. At 8:30am, students are taken to the oval for physical activity before being returned to prepare for classes at 8:45am.
At the conclusion of the school day, children not involved in extra curricular activities or requiring bus transport are encouraged to leave the school grounds as soon as possible after being dismissed at 3pm.
Bicycles/pedestrians
Students are not to ride their bicycles. scooters or skateboards within the school grounds. Students are able to lock their bicycles, scooters or skateboards on racks and bays provided for security throughout the day.
If children are walking to school there is a pedestrian crossing available on both Johnson and Middle Road. Each of these locations have Crossing Supervisors to assist children to cross safely.
