​Occupational therapists

Occupational therapists are skilled professionals who work with students with disabilities to find the balance between what students want to do, need to do, and what they are required to do within the school setting. O.T's help people to become more independent and improve their ability to perform the daily operations of life such as studying, working and playing. They do this by enabling people to engage in meaningful occupations for health, wellbeing, achievement and life success.

Speech therapists

Communication is essential for learning, literacy and numeracy development, interacting with others, participation in all class and school activities, and positive self-esteem. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) provide a service to a number of schools across a local area while being physically based at one school. Enquiries about the speech-language therapy service for a particular area can be addressed to the school principal, Head of Special Education Services, or Regional Senior Speech-Language Pathologist.

Physiotherapists

Physios aim to help people develop their physical abilities and functional skills. They do this by assisting people to improve their posture and movement through intervention and support.

Advisory Visiting Teachers (AVT)

Advisory Visiting Teachers (AVTs) are teachers with specialist knowledge and skills, who support the access, participation and achievement of students with disability.
